International recording artists The Green Children, a euro-pop duo, brings its message of hope and inspiration for change to the 2010 Energy Trust Better Living Show. Hailing from England and Norway, artists Milla Sunde and Marlow Bevan use their musical talents to help those in need, offering healthcare support, microcredit, and education scholarships worldwide.

Throughout the Better Living Show, The Green Children are hosting free concerts, signing autographs, explaining microcredit and its opportunities, and displaying videos from their work in poverty-stricken nations. Additionally, 15 percent of CD sales during the three-day event will be donated to future projects of The Green Children Foundation.

“The Green Children are devoted to fostering charity throughout the world using their musical talents as a platform,” said Cheryl Bogart, The Green Children’s Publicist. “I wanted them to be a part of events that had a meaningful message behind them and the Better Living Show was one of them.”

The Green Children’s journey began at The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts, when Sunde and Bevan realized their desire to create a pop group was mutual. Sunde’s melodious tones and Bevan’s instrumentation caught the ear of Universal Music Group in the U.S. in 2008. They have also partnered with Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation. Philip Sansone, President of Whole Planet Foundation calls The Green Children, “Angels of positive change” who “Whole Foods Market and Whole Planet Foundation are enormously proud to have as a partner.”

In 2005, Sunde and Bevan established The Green Children Foundation, which supports microcredit, education and healthcare in at-risk nations. The funds received from their musical endeavors help fund projects carried out by The Green Children Foundation. In 2006, The Green Children partnered with Nobel Peace Prize recipient Professor Muhammad Yunus and launched a campaign in Norway, where they sold a CD/DVD package throughout the country. Together, they raised over $50,000 to build one of the first eye hospitals in rural Bangladesh. The hospital works toward serving 50,000 people per year, with 10,000 of those receiving vital cataracts operations, to escape from lives of blindness.

“We believe in promoting positive stories that highlight the solution, not the problem,” explained The Green Children. “Together as a community we can have a real voice and make a direct difference for the people who need it.”

Location: Midrand, Johannesburg
Link out: Click here
Description: Hosted in association with South Africa’s industry professional institutes, the Green Building Conference and Exhibition 2010 will attract the leading decision making members of these organisations who are committed to learning about and embracing green building techniques.

Building on its four year history, the Green Building Conference and Exhibition. The Conference is also likely to coincide with the opening of the Gautrain service to the area of Midrand.

South Africa’s largest Green Building Conference and Exhibition attracted in excess of 700 industry professionals and more than 100 exhibition stands to the event held in Sandton, Johannesburg in July 2009.

2010’s expanded exhibition hall of leading product and service providers will complement the agenda where certain new features will increase the extent to which delegates and exhibitors are able to network, engage and do business:

The Green Building Conference and Exhibition is proud to announce a high-level media partnership with Engineering News beginning early in the new year with extensive Engineering News Online media coverage of invited speakers, white-paper discussions and product and technology showcases, and culminating in a national circulation of the Conference Program to more than seventy thousand weekly readers of the print edition of Engineering News in April. Sponsors and Exhibitors at the Green Building Conference will now receive all this additional value by association. Other new value-add features at the event will include:

• Incorporation of break-out session rooms on the Exhibition floor
• Large product demonstration stage area on the Exhibition floor
• Electronic exhibition directory terminals on the Exhibition floor
• Increased build-up and on-site value for Sponsors

Showcase your products and services in an even bigger and busier event location where you will interact personally with built environment professionals specifically seeking products and services that they can incorporate into current and future projects.

By connecting your brand with the Green Building Conference, the partner organisations and the various VIP speakers and guests, your organisation can be positioned as a leader in this exciting space. Depending on strategic objectives, sponsors are able to connect their brands with the various ideals and themes that are associated with Green Building.

Book your exhibition stand early and enjoy many new early opportunities to promote your organization to an even broader audience!

Start Date: 2010-04-29
End Date: 2010-04-30
