Description: This Eagle Creek “Chocolate” Home has unique heating and cooling systems – utilizing a masonry heater, ground source heat, and the water of an indoor endless pool, all tied together to keep the house cool in summer and comfortable in winter with minimal dependence on “purchased power.” This house also takes advantage of passive solar design, of the high-efficiency that comes from the use of insulated concrete formed walls, all while retaining beautiful views, natural interior light, and new-century aesthetics. Three old-growth Douglas fir trees needed to be removed from the house site, but were reused as exposed structural wood throughout the house. This home is designed for LEED for Homes Platinum standards.

The tour will be conducted by the owners as well as the design-architect, Paolo Scardinia of Paolo Design Group. Some of you may remember his presentation on the design of this house last January – now we get to see it in completed form in person!
