Miss Teen Earth Siria Bojorquez
In conjunction with Blue Ocean Events, Earth Pageant Productions, producers of the United States Earth Pageant is honored to announce that Siria Bojorquez-Miss Teen Earth United States 2010 will be coming to Portland Oregon as a special guest of the Better Living Home and Garden show. The eco-friendly environmentally green event will run from March 25-27, 2011 at the Portland Expo Center.
Ms. Bojorquez, an 18-year old high school senior from El Paso, Texas will take part in many of the events including sustainable fashions shows, seminars and an appearance with the world’s #2 Eco-Athlete, Ovie Mughelli. As Miss Teen Earth United States, Siria is a spokesperson for TerraCycle, which designs and creates fashion accessories using discarded Capri Sun drink bags. Along with her sister titleholder, Miss Earth United States-Danielle Bounds, they have traveled from coast to coast, taking part in beach clean-ups, tree planting ceremonies, fashion shows, environmental workshops, speaking engagements and worked with our official charity Soles4Souls.
Delegates who compete on the local and state level are equally active. They are future sustainable clothing designer, weather forecasters, environmentally focused teachers and businesswoman. They are authors, scholars and role models. They are more than just a crown; they are spokespersons and ambassadors of Mother Earth.
Known as “Beauties for a Cause” the Miss Earth candidates and titleholders dedicate their year to promote environmental projects and address issues concerning the environment. They serve as advocates for the protection and preservation of the environment. The 2011 national United States Earth Pageant will take place from July 31-August 3, 2011 in Daytona Beach and the international Miss Earth pageant will be held in October, 2011 in Nhg Tran, Veit Nam. As a vendor of this great 3-day trade show, The Better Living Home & Garden Show in Portland Oregon, we were pleased to meet with Siria Bojorquez, the 2010 Miss Teen Earth United States. We enjoyed taking the time to introduce her to most of our natural renewable biodegradable and/or compostable products made from starches extracted from corn, potato, tapioca, or other plant and vegetable matter which help reduce the carbon footprint impact on the environment.
